School History

Hindu Kanya Vidyalya is a premier educational institution for girls in Sonepat founded by Sh. Pratap Singh Cairo in 1963. It is a prestigious government aided school engaged in imparting liberal education initially named as Hindu Kanya Vidyalaya. It is situated at Kath Mandi, Sonepat and was started as a middle School with 12 members of teaching staff and only one member of office staff with about 200 students. In 1964 , the school upgraded to high school under esteem administration of Mrs, Miglani. In 1991, the school was again upgraded as senior secondary with Arts and Commerce stream.

The school has acquired a strong identity and recognition among the society. The school has been groomed to its present stature under the able guidance of devoted and eminent personalities. Mrs. Miglani was the first principal and she nourished this institution from 1963 to 1965. Those who carried the golden legacy of school with their able guidance were:

All these gave the present splendid look to the school. At present Sh. Rajesh Gupta, an able administrator is the principal of the school. He is an experienced educator who has an honored record of achievements in the field of education.

• He got appreciation rewards from Lions Club Sonepat in 2005, Rotary Club Sonepat Uptown in 2008, Bharat Vikas Parishad Govind Branch Sonepat in 2010.
• Hon. Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani Human Resource Development Govt. of India rewarded appreciation in 2015 for his  dedicated contribution toward education.
• He achieved another appreciation reward from Bharat Vikas Parishad Swaranprashad Branch Sonepat in 2017 and in 2018 appreciated by Rotary club sonepat and Wave Education Society.

Dr Rajesh Gupta is also a keen aspirant of social welfare. Many social organisations  facilitate  him with prestigious awards for the contrition     he made with full devotion and dedication towards society.

• He achieved an appreciation award in 1999 by Sh. Aggarsain Sewa Mandal(Reg.) Sonepat for his contribution in Aggarwal Samaj.
• In 1985,1998,1999, 2000 by Shiv Sena Samiti Sonepat for services in free Eye Camps. In 1997, Deputy Commissioner of Sonepat & Chief Medical Officer of Sonepat for services to Polio Immunization.
• In 2000 by Narayan Sewa sansthan Udaipur( Rajasthan) for services in Polio Immunization. He got Award for services to Polio Immunization by Red Cross Society Sonepat in 1999,2000 and 2002.
• Millenium Award in 2000 by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sonepat for Hindi Language.
• International Gayatri Partiwar, Shanti Kunj Haridwar(Utteranchal) awarded him ‘Indian Cultural Development’ award in 2001 and 2002.
• In 2010-11 ,’ Swarnprasth International Ekta’ Award by Manthan Art Group Sonepat .
• Sai Jan Sewa Samiti Sonepat awarded ‘Jal Yodha’ Award in 2012-2013.
• In 2013 District Award for Social Services by honorable Education Minister Ms. Geeta Bhukkal.

The school building which was constructed in the nineteen sixties was further expanded in 1991 to cater to the growing needs of the expanding school and rising number of students as school was upgraded to senior secondary at that time. An auditorium and two computer laboratories were constructed with modern amenities in 2007. Both computer labs consists 88 systems and Internet facility in each lab. Computer education with its practical implication is one of the main focus of Hindu Kanya School to make girl student more independent in all respects.

The school holds a leading position both in academics and sports, co-curricular activities like Eco Club and Music club etc. Our school is running  Girl Guide and Jr. Red Cross Units for the further development of personality and potential of students. School also plays its moral responsibility of making girls educated as well as self defendant.  We are endorsing campaign of central government  ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padao’  to make girl students more independent in all respects.  To inculcate various talents in the students, school organizes summer camps during summer vacations. Taekwondo classes are also organized free of cost. Our school have a glorious record of achievements in Taekwondo. Our girls have proved themselves the best in Inter school, District, State and National level competitions and have brought laurel to the school.
